First
Lady (Overseer) Sherry C.
Lykes
First Lady is the daughter of Mary and the late Otis Coles of Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She is the third of five siblings and graduated from the Halifax County public school system in 1983.
.
Lady Lykes served
in the United States Army as a Personnel Management Specialist
from
1985- 1996. Feeling a
need for a change of pace from administration to something more
creative, Lady Lykes
became a
licensed cosmetologist in April 1996 and opened the doors of her
first beauty salon, “The Unique
One” in May 1996. She earned an Associates
Degree in Business Administration from American
Intercontinental University in Buckhead, Georgia
in 2006. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of
Science
degree in Psychology from Argosy University from
which she will graduate in 2013.
During the transition from the Armed Forces back
to civilian life, Lady Lykes was invited to a service at the
Deliverance Tabernacle Church in South Boston, Virginia and it was
at this time that she came into a true saving relationship with
Jesus Christ. Although, she had been reared in the holiness church
all of her life, she quickly learned that the church or holiness
had been reared in her. In 1992, under the tutelage of Pastor Carl
D. Lykes (at that time) she began to grow in the word of God and
serve in the ministry. She has served in almost every capacity in
the ministry, from usher to Apostolic Knight to Women’s
ministry.
She was united in marriage to Apostle Carl D.
Lykes in November 2005 and currently is the First Lady of the
Apostolic Faith Churches of Deliverance and still to this day
maintains a “servant’s heart”. She is the proud mother of Natasha
Pointer and grandmother of Rashard and Rashaun, and with Apostle
she is mother to Myrah & Carl II and two other grandchildren
Jamie II and Anthony Lykes
Lady Lykes has spearheaded many workshops. In
2002, she taught a workshop in London, UK entitled “There’s Got to
be Something More”. God inspired Lady Lykes to start “Ladies
First”, a ministry designed especially to meet the needs of first
ladies and pastor’s wives, as well as women pastors. Lady Lykes is
also active in the community through her outreach mentoring
program, “Sarah’s Daughters”. Through this program Lady Lykes
teaches life skills to former offenders that she believes is very
necessary to foster successful matriculation into the
workforce.
In 2011, Overseer Lykes was awarded an internet
radio station. Oscar Award Mega Radio can be accessed
at www.oscarawardmegaradio.ning.com. I personally host a
weekly broadcast every Thursday at 7:00 pm entitled
“Purpose, Power, Potential” radio broadcast. Lady Lykes will be
featured in the Jan/Feb 2013 issue of
Promoting Purpose Magazine as a contributing writer, Living Life on
Purpose.

Myrah
Chantre’ Lykes
On August 12, 1977
Myrah was born to Apostle Carl Daniel and Elder Virginia Lykes. She
was born into a legacy of preachers. At the age of 2, Myrah sang
her first solo, “I Don’t Feel No Ways Tired.” She did not know that
this song was developing her attitude for what she was about to
face in her life. She went from singing solos, to the drums, to the
organ, to the pulpit at the age of 12. The fire just had to
come out.
In 1994 Myrah was
diagnosed with lupus. Her testimony has been, “I’m glad I don’t
look like what I’ve been through.” June 22, 1996, Myrah was joined
in holy matrimony to Jamie Lamar Irby. Through this union Jamie
Lamar Lykes II, Alexis Jame’ Lykes and Anthony Daniel Lykes were
bought into the world. Alexis was promoted to glory with her
makerin 2002.
She attended Longwood
College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary
Education. In 2007 She completed her Masters in Educational
Supervision Leadership. She is now a retired teacher from Halifax
Public Schools. Myrah currently serves in administration at the
Academy of Excellence.
She serves as youth
pastor of Deliverance Tabernacle in South Boston, Virginia. She was
appointed as Overseer of the Youth of Apostolic Faith Churches of
Deliverance in October 2011 at Apostolic Sees Christ Cathedral,
Statesville, NC.
Elder Lykes passion
is youth education. Elder Lykes has endured the worst of times and
is still standing. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 124. Her
favorite quote is ‘No weapon that is formed against me shall
prosper. Her father calls her Alice. Her son calls her mama. Her
husband calls her Tugga. But God calls her

Lisa Beam Perry
Lisa Beam Perry was born on March 10, 1968, in
Washington, D.C.,
to Mr. Earl
Theodore Beam and Mrs. Barbara Poyner Beam, who were
both educators. She has one older
sister, Teddi Beam Conroy, who lives
in San Antonio, Texas, along with her
husband.
Lisa is married to Bishop Michael Orlando Perry
Senior, and together
they
have three beautiful children, Alana, age 18, Michael II, age 17,
and
Christian, age 12. She is
a teacher and has been teaching in the public school system
forseventeen
years.
She
attended Benjamin Banneker Academic High School where she learned
to enjoy dance as a form of expression. She graduated from Penn
State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast-Cable
Communications. At Penn State, she received more formal
training in dance, and was a member of the Nommo Performing Arts
Company for three and a half years.
The
year 1991 was a turning point in her life. While living at
home and attending the mayoral inauguration, she met the man who
would become her husband, Michael Perry. She received the
gift of the Holy Ghost while visiting one Tuesday night Bible study
at
Deliverance Tabernacle. From that point on, her life was never
going to be the same. She would never be able to predict the next
move of God. She and Michael Perry married in November of that
very year.
Lisa
says, “I never knew my life would go in the direction that it went.
I couldn’t understand why God would allow me to conceive and
miscarry after four and a half months. I couldn’t understand why
God would allow me to have a baby, and for that baby, little Jenna,
not to live but for two months. I thought I was never going to have
the things that I truly wanted in life.” Despite the
disappointments, God saw fit to bless them with children.
Since
moving to Statesville, she has been involved in many facets of
ministry. Becoming a missionary, being actively involved in
the Women’s Ministry, teaching Sunday School, and teaching at the
Academy of Excellence are just a few of the activities
that she participates in on a regular basis. She is also the head
of the Christ Cathedral dance ministry, Ministry in Motion. She
believes that we are to use our total being to glorify God and
minister to others what the Lord would have us to know. Worshipping
God everywhere and in everything is most important to
her.
For it is in Him that we live, and move, and have our being. Without Him where would we be
